We used Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for the Dev and Prod environment and mostly to serve up load-balanced application nodes. Oracle does a great job with VM instance management and offers a range of solutions, and we found that very helpful in supporting business requirements. It also solved for high performant compute service management for our applications.
  • High-performance workload execution and management.
  • Application load balancing and scale options.
  • Flexible and low total cost of ownership.
  • Documentation is sometimes not up to date and requires professional services to set things straight.
  • Better cost management support - Continued automation in this area will be beneficial.
  • Support an overhaul of issue submission and tracking - Operational aspects.
If you need stable and performant application services to feed to the web, app, or analytics routines then you should be looking at Oracle. I've had exposure with services for channels in Retail, Travel, and Marketing Analytics for batch and close to near real time scenarios and it is best in class suited for these industries.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is used to host virtual servers and store data in our organization by the application teams to compute and process the customer data. As a Financial organization, we have tons of data coming into our system which should be processed to make business decisions for expanding the business and improve our systems and processes.
  • Reliability
  • Advanced security
  • Automated Tuning
  • Global Availability of Datacenters
  • Integration with third-party services
  • User interface
  • Community support
The use case scenarios of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure depend on multiple factors like size of the company, budget the type of application that you want to run but in general it is best suited for large Enterprise Companies which are on a Hybrid cloud model and which need services like Data analytics and HPC. It is not suited for small startups, short-term projects, third-party integrations, etc. due to budget constraints and compatibility issues in my opinion.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a service based cloud platform that our team is using for a chunk of our sites build in Python. There are some 20-30 sites that use this service mostly oriented towards the database storage and file system storage as these sites are pretty content heavy in nature. That being said, the traffic on these sites are really high and this is where Oracle Cloud Infrastructure helps with their high availability and concurrency.
  • Our sites are pretty heavy on the content site per page, but Oracle Cloud Infrastructure performs excellently when serving them up to our clients i.e. high availability
  • Efficiency of Oracle Cloud Infrastructureis very high and the performance is always at an average of 99%. The 1% being the occasional maintenance
  • Monitoring system provided by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is to the point and comprehensive
  • There is a bit of learning curve. But I guess this is true for any service
  • Could be a little cost effective. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is really expensive on an enterprise level in my opinion.
  • The Cloud Support sometimes decrease the priority of open tickets to increase the SLA I beleive. Now that's bad, in my opinion.
We are using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for 20 to 30 sites and all of them very high in transactions and content oriented. The views per site per day each of these websites generate range between 5000-8000. But using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is really up to the mark because we have not seen much performance oriented or website availability oriented issues.

Use oracle cloud infrastructure to host our in-house product application business customer-facing software as a service application. The application uses computer instances that are hosted in the network and use the storage, which consists of the DataBase, logging, and bucket. Cloud infrastructure reliability and speed into the next level, even though there are multiple cloud providers or I can help us to integrator requirements with the help of their team be very able to migrate from an on-premise solution to Cloud within days without affecting their business. We take security into consideration very much and are very able to integrate the best of security, compliance, data handling guidance, protection of privacy of our customers, logging and all the government relations at all geography to be set up at the best places that are actually provided.
  • Superior Performance
  • Built in security
  • High Availability
  • Powerful Developer tools and Built in APIs
  • Services
  • Integration with Services
  • More Products compared to competitiors
  • Better Pricing
To start with this very difficult to ignore the code provided and suggest Microsoft and Google and Amazon. Due to the number of developer documents classrooms and training that already provides since it's a newbie in the market. It's always good to go with the one that has better support since they're trying to be the market. Even do the competitions are not too bad, oracle is a technology for the past decades.

We are using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for running the dev, staging, and production environment of multiple services. We use VM, Kubernetes service, and database services for running the majority of the application. The benefits we have seen are highly available, scalable, and robust infrastructure at a low cost as compared to other providers in the market. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provides direct support of Terraform which helps our infra team to create and scale infrastructure quickly.
  • Database services are best in class
  • Services are highly available and scalable
  • Datacentres are available in almost all the regions
  • It's good for running the microservices application in Kubernetes
  • Limited OS images for Virtual Machines
  • Depends on third party services for CI-CD automation
  • User Interface is very out-dated
  • Currently, the community is very small so some troubleshooting takes more time
I would recommend Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for running the application that requires minimum cloud-based services. The services are highly available and scalable at minimum cost. Oracle has high-quality services but I feel they are still growing in the market and not all the services are available in their services catalog which is required for running the large application.

I do consulting for an IT services company and advise them on their clients' Oracle infrastructure, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle databases. I recommend the implementation of management and monitoring tools to perform analysis and recommendation of different actions to better the operation of Oracle implementations for production environments of clients.
  • Compute performance and flexibility
  • Networking management and operations
  • Storage allocation and performance for VMs and databases
  • VM manager and enterprise manager tools
  • Integration with third party SaaS infrastructures and services
  • Integration with third party database services
  • Ongoing support for old versions of products such as database, app servers, and admin tools
Pasas, SaaS and IaaS architectures, database servers and services, application servers. Advanced database features like replication, online backups, materialized view use, spatial feature, object database functionality, database clustering.

Cloud Infrastructure was particularly useful for storing several iterations of different simulations and helped put them in a localized area that didn't necessarily require remote access software. The cloud was so fast and not only stored and managed all of our simulations but provided a fast area to run them as well for when analysis and calculations were quickly needed for a new iteration
  • Rapid and Mass storage of complex files
  • The best High performance computing solutions to offer in the industry
  • Excellent Artificial Intelligence integration for running iterative simulations
  • Sometimes integration of artificial intelligence was janky and difficult but eventually able to get it working with all files
  • Merging with third-party software is also quite tricky despite supposedly being a good feature
Like I said previously, it was really best at using high-performance computing to quickly run multiple complex simulations, and we were fortunate enough to get artificial intelligence to help aid in configuring the different iterations for each simulation, which was an enormous timesaver when we were busy compiling the data and analyzing the results of each iteration.

This system, in general, was implemented for the company to maintain order with the amount of data and information. As a food company, we have too much information regarding sales & customers. We have had favorable results using their service since we can keep our data safe. It is extremely spectacular to maintain a single structure where we can enter and search for the information we need or simply save that data safely and securely. It is a system that is implemented all over the web.
  • Optimal structure and Really useful tool.
  • A service that details each tool and its proper use.
  • It is a service that can be installed quickly and that supports the computer and the oracle cloud service.
  • It can be expensive.
  • Oracle or third party help is needed to install.
The Oracle service is a cloud service, so if I would recommend it in a general way to those companies or users who wish to use a very detailed system for universities since it allows to keep data or group work protected. It works well to keep your data in an efficient system.

Our OCI adventure

Currently, we are using the OCI for our PeopleSoft Upgrade Manager (PUM) and our PeopleSoft demo databases. We are evaluating the network set up and firewall rules we can apply to the environment. We are planning on putting all our non-prod environments into OCI. PeopleSoft is an enterprise application so for testing, it will be used across the organization as well as for DR/BC in the future. For our business, we are hoping it will be cost neutral and provide easy provisioning for our environments as well as scalability for our non-prod environments.

  • Provisioning for environments
  • Scalability for our environments
  • Data backup
  • Understanding what services will incur additional charges when you set up the environment not after the charges start to be incurred.
  • Better PeopleSoft support for lift and shift. We are having a consultant help us with the move.
We don't feel confident enough in OCI to put our production environment in there yet. It may be well suited however we need to do our due diligence. Also as a government agency we need to ensure that our data is never located outside of the US at any time. We do feel it will be well suited for our PUM, Demo, Dev, Test and staging environments in the cloud. Our strategy is to get our staff working on more high value tasks and offload the mundane things on the OCI environment. We may even outsource our server patching. The additional items that come in the cloud purchase make it particularly appealing. These items include data masking, goldengate and the backup and recovery services.

IaaS (Infrastructure As a Service) is being used to upgrade from our current ERP system to the next one which is entirely cloud based. Our servers(web, application, database, monitoring servers etc. )will be maintained on Oracle's cloud infrastructure. Whether this will be a pubilic or private cloud will depend on type of environment, stake holder's involved and facilities offered for both these clouds.
  • Reduction in cost as no scalability is required from an IT infrastructure side.
  • Pre-configured, engineered and simple in nature. This helps in reducing complexity on the IT side.
  • Less number of workers needed. Helps in effectively reducing man power and using comp.
  • IAAS (Infrastructure as a Service) is not a customizable solution. It's a pre-configured system which sometimes fits in customer expectation but largely differs in diversity.
  • More improvements are being worked on by Oracle to improve cloud computing, Oracle systems do not share computing resources and need to be scaled in those areas.
  • Third, Oracle private clouds are not delivered “as-a-service”. This solution is a rental which can be modified, but is nonetheless bound by hardware and software parameters, for a specified rental period.
Oracle's IAAS might work well for small organizations with less cloud computing and scalability requirements. This will result in less manual labor and considerable reduction in IT costs.
